The Firefest Social Gathering

Now, with great pleasure I present this statement from Kieran and Bruce and the Firefest Team:

MESSAGE FROM FIREFEST TEAM
"First of all, once again let us thanks all those participating in what has become more than just a show, but a wonderful social event for all fans of melodic hard rock. It really has become an opportunity to meet friends and like-minded fans from all over the world, and despite all the hard work put in months in advance, is always a pleasure to see the fun and enjoyment had by not just those in the audience, but also the bands on stage. We'd also like to give a massive heart-felt thanks to Graham Hatton and Simon Trott, both true fans of the scene who dug deep into their own pockets and each donated a considerable amount of money to Firefest, enabling us to bring in all the bands we wanted – especially Tall Stories – and also go ahead with the filming for several DVD releases next year. Thanks guys!!

The reaction and response to Firefest 5 has been fantastic, so really, how could we not do another one? However, we will most likely go back to a single day and pre-show … a full weekend was just a little too much for everyone. So yeah, there will be a Firefest 6 and I hope we can all get together once again and celebrate the music that we love!

Hi there

I think you should put on another Firefest Festival, how's about having LA Guns there. I caught up with them last year at JB's and they were on fire.

Well, folks. The speculation's virtually over. If you haven't heard the news; the line-up for Firefest VI is to be announced live on Steve Price's show on ARFM from 6 pm on Sunday evening. As suspected, it will be back to a Friday night / full day Saturday format as was Firefest IV but I for one have already been checking out hotels in Nottingham (let's just hope it's the same weekend)!

Huge thanks to Kieran and all the rest of the team for having the guts and sheer willpower to see this through.

See you there.

Simon

OK - it's official!! Firefest VI will be on Friday 23rd and Saturday 24th October. Friday night and all day Saturday as we expected!! Friday line up has just been announced on ARFM and it's a cracker:

Lost Weekend
Eclipse
Bad Habit
H.E.A.T.
Treat

So it's Swedish night - heat up the meatballs and dig out the blue & yellow flags but we'll be there for that night alone!!

The Friday line up is simply amazing. To have both Eclipse and H.E.A.T. plus 3 others in a 500 capacity venue for £20 is incredible. SAturday's worth it as well - so looking forward to seeing Crown of Thorns. Happy to see White Sister again cos I thought they were pretty good. The only downer for me is FM - they were so stultefyingly boring two years ago that I went back to the hotel after 10 minutes. I guess it means it won't be such a long day for us. Anyway - tickets booked and hotel to be confirmed but I guess we'll stay in the same place again.

Simon,
I would have to agree, not at all interested in FM. There are several bands I know nothing about but White Sister are worth the money alone. Don't want to sound negative though, I'm just pleased there is Firefest VI.

Im kinda glad to see a return to the traditional more AOR type line up this year, although not sure if the demand for tickets will be as popular (hope it will be tho.....).

Looking forward to seeing drive she said and remeo's daughter for the first time.

White sister were brilliant last year (how many bands can keep a crowd entertained for 5 mins without playing a song like they did when the guitar setup failed?), just great entertainers i suppose.

Anyone heard who the special guest might be? ive heard mr big or tesla. Tesla not really suited to the line up ima, (although would be great to see them), and would of thought mr big would be doing their own headline tour of uk, anyone else heard anything?

Im personally hoping for, although a long shot i know, would be Terry Brock back with Strangeways, or even just on his own....
